Reporting An Absence

Expectations during remote education

While your child’s year group is learning from home it is important that they keep in contact with us each day and we know they are ok. Therefore we have told your child they must check in with their 9 o’clock teacher every morning using MS Teams
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday this will be with their Tutor, on Tuesdays and Thursdays this will be with their Period 1 teacher
If they do not have a lesson on Tuesday or Thursday they should check in with their Head of House via email
If wifi or electronic devices are causing problems so they are not able to do this, please contact the school’s Reception on Reception@harriswestminstersixthform.org.uk and let us know what IT support you could do with

How do I report if my child is sick or ill?

Parents/carers should inform the school using Attendance@harriswestminstersixthform.org.uk if their child is ill or if their child has an appointment which means they will miss any online sessions
Only parents and carers should use this email to inform the school about attendance or punctuality
If the absence is due to actual or suspected coronavirus, please make this clear in your email as the school has to record this
differently
What if someone who lives with your child has coronavirus symptoms or has a positive test for it?

If your or someone who lives with your child has coronavirus symptoms or has a positive test for it, everyone in that household should self-isolate and follow the NHS rules (please check them as they may have changed)
Please make clear in an email if you are self-isolating due to actual or suspected coronavirus as the school has to record this differently. Email Attendance@harriswestminstersixthform.org.uk
Parent/carer should contact the school on the first day and each subsequent day of the self-isoaltion and let us know when it has come to an end
