Alumni Governor

The Governing Body of Harris Westminster Sixth Form is seeking an Alumni Governor. Applications to this new role are welcomed from anyone who completed their course of study at Harris Westminster on or before 31st August 2019.

Members of the Governing Body work together to perform a vital strategic role and carry out various key functions, including:

  • Setting objectives for the Academy
  • Ratifying policies and targets for achieving those objectives
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress that the Academy is making towards its aims
  • Providing challenge and support to the Principal, i.e. be a 'critical friend'

The term of office for the Alumni Governor is 2 years, and you would be expected to attend 4 meetings and undertake 3 Academy visits per academic year. Harris Federation provides excellent training, including an induction programme for new Governors.

This role provides the opportunity to make a real difference to the long-term goals of the Academy and we would very much welcome the valuable and relevant experience that an ex-student would bring. School Governors form the largest volunteer force in the country and taking on this role would give you a unique experience to draw on in your future career.
