Gonville & Caius History Challenge

Kate Lucas in Year 13 has gained First Prize for her essay submitted to the Gonville & Caius History Challenge.

This outstanding piece of scholarship saw Kate examine the historical and social significance of ironing. Her essay was one of many that the college received with the challenge encouraging students to think 'creatively and individually about the subjects they love'.

Part of her prize included an award of tokens to the Wigoder Library for the purchase of new books. Kate remarked that she would share 'an eclectic list' of new titles to be added to the shelves.
